Hullo and good day! Margaret here with some updates!
We all just got back from our Thanksgiving break, so we don’t have a whole lot of new work to show you from last week, but we wanted to give you a head’s up about some playtesting opportunities we have coming up in the near future! Yes, you heard right, playtesting! The game is playable!
We’re doing our very first public playtest next week Friday, December 8th, from 11am-1pm in the Memorial Student Center’s Brew Devil Nook!
This playtest is going to have a strong focus on user experience and the overall gameplay itself. The art and programming obviously won’t be anywhere near done yet, but we want to hear your opinions on what we have so far! Are our puzzles too hard? Are our puzzles too easy? Can you understand the controls? Is anything too confusing or frustrating? In short, is the game fun to play? These are all questions we’d like to ask you, our players, and we’d really appreciate hearing your input!
Our next public playtest is going to be on Wednesday, December 13th, from 6-9pm in the Memorial Student Center Great Hall.
There we’ll be demoing the super alpha version of Umbrella Mondays at the Stout Game Expo, along with a bunch of other games from the University of Wisconsin-Stout Game Design and Development program (including Small Hours!).
We’ll also be showing off a lot of our progress art, including things that we haven’t published yet on this blog, and you can talk to all of us in person. If you’re in the area, please check us out! It should be a really good time!
Those are the two playtests we have so far, but there will undoubtedly be more opportunities to playtest early next year! We’ll post any playtesting updates on both of our social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter), as well as this blog, so keep an eye on all of those!
Hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving, and we hope to see you soon!
